Pasquale Tomasso ‘s mother is Francesca Alonzo. After Francesca’s death (date unknown) his father Antonio married Maddalena Alonzo. They were sisters.

This extensive tree shows the earliest Alonzo ancestor found so far…Guiliano Alonzo (born @1790) who married Domenica Tatangelo (born @1790).

The name Alonzo has Spanish and German origins, derived from the Visigothic name “Adalfuns,” which means “noble and ready” or “eager for nobility. It is a variant of the name Alfonso, which became popular in Spain and has roots in the region of León. Alonzo and Alonzi both appear in some documents.

Spain ruled most of Italy from 1504 to 1715 which led to large-scale immigration of soldiers, clergy, viceroys, governors, and their followers and families.
